Board Members

The Board consists of seven members, five of whom are appointed by the Shelby County Commissioners and two of whom are appointed by the probate judge. Three individuals must be a family member to a person receiving services from Shelby Hills Early Childhood Center, S&H Products, or residential supports.

The Board meets the third Thursday of the month at 11:30 A.M. in the Shelby Hills Early Childhood Center Conference Room.

Dan Bensman
President

Mr. Bensman is an attorney and partner with the law firm of Faulkner, Garmhausen, Keister & Shenk. He is a member of the Ohio State and Shelby County Bar Associations and currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Shelby County United Way, the Community Foundation of Shelby County, the Wilson Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the Anna Local Schools Education Foundation. He has served on many community organizations including serving as the President of the S & H Products Board, President of the Shelby County Habitat for Humanity, and President of the Village of Anna Endowment Fund. Mr. Bensman resides in Anna with his wife, Lori, and their three children, Carter, Avery, and Claire.

Mike Schafer
Vice President

Mike Schafer is the president of Schafer Dairy Farms, Inc. He served for 24 years on the Russia Local Schools Board of Education and is currently serving on the Farm Credit Services Advisory Board. Mr. Schafer is a graduate of Russia High School and Miami University. He is a member of St. Remy Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Shelby Co. Farm Bureau, and the Independent Small Business. He and his wife have five children and three grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys reading, traveling, and following the local sports teams.

Patty Eilerman
Secretary

Patty Eilerman is the Marketing Communications Manager at Hartzell Fan, Inc. in Piqua, Ohio. She is a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fort Loramie, Ohio, and serves as a lector. She is currently President of the Fort Loramie Athletic Boosters. She and her husband Tony reside near Fort Loramie and have two sons. Patty is an avid sports fan and loves to read.


 

Kelly Albers

Kelly Albers is a financial analyst at Emerson Climate Technologies in Sidney, Ohio. She is a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fort Loramie. She resides near Ft. Loramie with their three children, Dylan, Grant, and Jessica.


 

Nate Counts

Nate Counts is an Assistant Vice President with Unity National Bank specializing in commercial lending. He has a B.A. in Economics from Marietta College and is also a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program in both Piqua and Troy. Mr. Counts has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. He currently serves on the board of Health Partners Free Clinic. Mr. Counts resides in McCartyville with his wife Chris, and their three children, Abby, Allie, and Sam.

Lisa Benanzer

Lisa Benanzer is the Member Service Manager at Pioneer Electric Cooperative in Piqua, Ohio. She has a B.S. in Financial Services from Wright State University and is also a graduate of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Programs in Piqua and Sidney. She is a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Fort Loramie and volunteers with the children’s liturgy and childcare programs; she completed the program Ministry of Moms Sharing (M.O.M.S.) and served as a CCD instructor. Lisa is currently a member of Sidney Rotary, serves on the Board of Directors, and is a member of the Rotary Charitable Fund Committee. She is current President of the Fort Loramie Education Foundation and is involved with fundraisers for the Football Committee. In the past, she served on the Board of Directors for the Rehabilitation Center for Neurological Development, Sidney/Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, and was chairperson for the chamber Nominating Committee; co-chaired the Continue Excellence levy campaign for Fort Loramie Local Schools, volunteered with the United Way Campaigns in Miami and Shelby counties; served on the Fort Loramie Liberty Days Committee; and was a member of Women In Networking. Lisa and her husband, Bill, reside in Fort Loramie with their three children Troy, Hillary, and Drew. She enjoys walking, reading, and her childrens’ activities.
