     Our classroom is a play-based environment. We often base our themes on the children’s current interests. Some examples of themes we’ve enjoyed in the past are; space, ocean, rainforest, pirates, and pets. We believe that the students learn best when they are provided with meaningful and fun experiences that they can relate to. We strive to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where the children can feel comfortable and are able to express themselves.

      During a typical day in our classroom the students will experience a variety of activities. We start out with a table activity and then move to circle for calendar time. We have a free play time where the students can interact with and explore the many centers set up in the classroom. The students work in individual or small groups on projects. We have a snack time and either play on the playground, or have a gross motor activity before ending the day. Each week we also have gym class, music group with another class, speech time, and occupational therapy group.
